Christmas Gifts for Kids
Tips for Gifts
It's that time of the year again! This means it's time to start holiday shopping for your loved ones. When buying gifts for children, you probably have a lot of ideas for toys on your shopping list. In order to make this process as eco-friendly as possible, we've come up with a few tips for buying and recycling toys.

Donate old toys

The holidays are all about giving, so it's a perfect time to give back to others. Since your children know they'll be gifted with new toys, ask them to gather the toys they no longer want before the holidays and donate them to charity.

Take the donations to shelters, children's hospitals, and other organisations that accept toys. Besides being eco-friendly and reducing waste, it teaches your kids to give back to those in need and to learn how to reuse items.

Quality over quantity

When shopping for toys, choose quality over quantity. Although kids might be happier if they receive many little toys, cheap toys are more likely to break and so, they're more wasteful. Instead, buy fewer, high-quality toys that will last longer and they can use for at least a couple of years.

Buy multi-use toys

Buy toys such as building blocks, or art supplies that can be used in a variety of ways. This will ensure that kids are less likely to get tired of the toys since they can use their imagination to find new ways to have fun with them. This reduces the waste your children produce and also helps their cognitive development.

It's a great idea to teach kids about living an eco-friendly lifestyle from a young age, and the holiday season is a great time to start. It helps to explain why you chose the gifts and how they'll benefit the environment.
