Christmas Recycling Tips
Celebrating a Waste-Free Christmas
With Christmas just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about Christmas gift ideas. However, this year, make it a point to keep the environment in mind. We've come up with a short list of things you can do to enjoy the Christmas season whilst also reducing your impact on the environment by producing less waste.

Christmas cards

Instead of contributing to the 'post office traffic' and eventual waste, consider making your own Christmas cards from old ones or send out eCards instead.

Wrapping

Rather than throwing away wrapping paper which is still good, keep it and reuse it for another time. When wrapping presents, try to use ribbons or string instead of tape.

Consider batteries

During Christmas, families tend to end up with a lot of batteries. Instead, make sure that the gift you're giving has rechargeable batteries and adaptors.

The gift of experience

Instead of buying materialistic gifts, consider gifting your loved ones with experiences that they'll remember and appreciate. This could be in the form of tickets to a show, a short holiday, or even a gift voucher which ensures that the receiver will buy something they actually need.

There are plenty of things you can do to make a difference to the environment, and by changing your Christmas habits you'll be making a huge difference-seeing as Christmas is one of the most wasteful seasons.
