BATREE campaign wins COVID-19
GreenPak collected 3 tons of old batteries
GreenPak COOP collected 3 tons of old batteries during COVID-19 lockdown from its partner 117 schools. The schools did their best to recycle as much as possible but the biggest well done goes to St. Paul's Bay Primary School. The largest number of batteries was collected by them during the 2019-2020 scholastic year, which averaged 1.25 kg of batteries per student.
Both the school and the pupil who collected the most received a prize, an iPad & an iPen generously donated by our sponsor: V.J. Salomone Marketing Limited.

GreenPak COOP and V.J. Salomone Marketing Limited target long-term behavior change by focusing on school children and encouraging them to involve their families. After the pilot of the campaign, this year 41,177 pupils from 117 schools countrywide participated. Schools have recycling bins in which they can deposit the used batteries, meaning it is very easy for families to participate.
At the moment there are around 800 collection points across Malta and Gozo. The list of collection points can be found here.
Your cooperation for a better environment is appreciated.
