2,789,500 plastic caps for Irricikla ghall-Istrina
A staggering 2.7 million plastic caps amounting to 8.4 tonnes of recyclable plastic was gathered in less than two months by hundreds of school children.

1,500,000 plastic caps for Irricikla ghall-Istrina
The effort of 52 schools and organizations participating in Irricikla ghal-Istrina effort helped raise € 5,000 for charity.
Representatives of the most active schools presented the cheque to his Excellency the President of Malta, during the live TV programme Irricikla ghal-Istrina.

Irrickla ghall-Istrina, meaning ‘Recycle for Istrina’ is the latest initiative by GreenPak, with the aim of collecting funds for Istrina 2011 through recycling practices. This innovative campaign encourages primary school students to contribute to local charities while also increasing their commitment to recycling. The campaign was launched today by GreenPak at Fgura Primary School.

Pupils at St.Benedict College Gudja Primary proved to be green winners by collecting enough recyclable waste to fill a total of 323 GreenPak recycling bags!
Back in March GreenPak's Waste Education Officer, Kurt Scerri, together with Gudja's Deputy Mayor,Mr. Romeo Baldacchino visited St.Benedict College Gudja Primary with the aim of launching a recycling competition with the students.

On the 2nd Of December Kurt Scerri,GreenPak's Waste Education Officer re-visited Gozo College,Xewkija Primary School.
The purpose of this second visit was to discover the outcome of the competition introduced at the school during November when the pupils were all encouraged to collect recyclable waste. The class to collect the most waste would win prizes for the school.

A project to encourage students to recycle their waste was launched at Birżebbuġa Primary School.
The project entitled "Nisseparaw l-iskart - Ngħinu l-Ambjent" (Recycling Rubbish - Helping the Environment) was organised with Birżebbuġa Local Council.
